Identifying an Error Code/Alarm Code

If your inverter or battery is displaying an error code, take note of this and include it in any email or phone call about the issues. You can find it displayed either on the inverter itself or in your app.

Sometimes these are helpful ("No connection") and other times they need deciphering ("OV-G-V"). Thankfully, you can also type each error code into the manufacturer help centre and you should have instant access to step-by-step troubleshooting guides and focused help.

Identifying Error Patterns

To better understand the alarm or error code, it is important to consider the circumstances surrounding its appearance. Consider, did you recently experience a power outage? Have you noticed any damage to the connection cables, such as animals nibbling on them?

Additionally, it is helpful to determine if this is the first time you have encountered the issue. If it has happened before, what was the situation at that time and how was it resolved? Providing all of this information will assist your support technician in gaining a clear understanding of the problem and finding a solution as quickly as possible.

Locating your Model Number and Serial Number

You can find the model number and serial numbers on the label that is usually on the side of your inverter (the exact location is different for each model, but it will be on the outside of the unit). Sometimes Serial Number is shortened to SN or S/N.

If you have a data logger (a device connected to the inverter that allows you to see the workings of your system in your app or online), then include this too. You can see the model and serial numbers for the data loggers on their labels too.
